| The Course in ASD Support Work has 3 units, is short and intensive and delivered over three days. There are no entry requirements, although it is suggested that entrants to the Course in ASD Support Work should have completed Year 11 or equivalent. Priority is given to those applicants who work directly with students with an ASD in either a special or regular school setting. The assessment process has been designed to cater for the individual needs and experiences of participants and ongoing support and feedback with be provided throughout the course. Elements from the units of competency of the course will be assessed in an integrated, holistic manner. Participants will be given supported opportunities to demonstrate their knowledge, understanding, problem solving and technical skills in face to face classes, written pieces and during a half-day field placement. |
